Set your BT Business hub to DMZplus Mode for Sharedband Routers

Sometimes the Built-in SPI Firewall on the BT Business Hub can interfere with Sharedband. Also to enable the support team to further diagnose faults with Routers, it is a good idea to set your BT Business Hub to use DMZplus mode.

Step 1

Log onto the Sharedband router connected to the BT Business Hub (by default this is 192.168.3.x (where x is the router number) so for router 1 it would be http://192.168.3.1 - the default username/password is admin/admin, then click 'Status'

This will now show your current WAN IP Address (192.168.1.64 in the example above)

Step 2

Take a laptop/desktop and plug directly into the BT Business Hub, make sure you have DHCP Enabled, navigate to the BT Business Hub http://home or http://192.168.1.254, now click 'Settings' > 'Firewall' > 'Allow Applications, Pinholes and DMZ Mode'

Select the IP from Step 1 (in the example below 192.168.1.64) and select 'Allow all applications (DMZplus mode)', then click Save.

The device will ask you for the admin password, which is the serial number by default (which is locate on the side of the BT Business Hub)

Step 4

Restart your Sharedband Router, then re-login and check the WAN IP, this should now display a Public IP Address (1.2.3.4 in this example)
