Some SMTP servers check to make sure you are who you say you are. They do this by performing a reverse DNS lookup on your IP.
If you are getting emails failing with messages like the ones below you probably need reverse DNS.
“smtp;450 Client host rejected: cannot find your hostname”
“smtp;521-EHLO/HELO from sender
“ … IP Name possibly forged
Before we can create you a reverse DNS entry there needs to a normal DNS record (an A record) to your public IP address (e.g. mail.yourcompany.com).
If you are already receiving mail its likely this is already setup.
You can find out where your mail goes by using online domain and mail tools (such as http://www.mxtoolbox.com/).
Once you know what you want your Reverse DNS entry to be, please Raise a Ticket detailing Your IP Address and what you require the reverse to be.
It may take up to 24 hours to propagate through DNS.
